Hello hello, this is The Overlord Bear, and it’s time for reflection again!
Today’s episode to be reflected on:
“A story of dazed eyes” –Jin’s song introduction for Kagerou Daze
Kagerou Daze. By the way, the music video of this episode’s namesake currently has the most views among the official KagePro music videos in Nico Nico Douga, and this song is also the song that inspired the name of the whole series, which is the Kagerou Project. One of the original character designers, Wannyanpuu, had also made a well-known music video for Kagerou Daze before she joined Jin and Shidu in making the Kagerou Project. (By the way, here’s a link to Karunarotsu’s subtitled video.) Anyway… Meet Hibiya Amamiya. Hibiya is a boy who has a crush on a girl named Hiyori Asahina. Now, get ready, Hibiya Amamiya, for I shall be unleashing my mind on you.
I know that crazy feel, Hibiya, and I’d also like to say that your brain is outside your skull right now.
Is that what Hiyori would really say, Hibiya?
Umm…Hibiya…do you really REALLY understand Hiyori?
Uhh…I think you’re getting carried away, Hibiya…
Hiyori, please put Hibiya’s brain back into his skull.
Hiyori, Hibiya really needs his brain back inside his skull already ’cause it’s gonna bite his butt later.
Okay, now’s the time for a brain reinsertion session! Go, Hiyori!
Thank you very much, Hiyori.
Listen well, Hibiya.
Now, Hibiya, I hope that your honesty has improved after this brain reinsertion session.
Looks like something went wrong in the procedure.
I’m not a fan of harsh deliveries, but thank you very much for your honesty, Hiyori.
Looks like Hiyori’s medicine had some side effects. Better cross “harshness” out in the list of brain repair medicine for Hibiya.
Now, I do hope that the procedure went well this time…
Maybe I shouldn’t have done a brain reinsertion…
Well, at least his honesty kinda improved.
Now then, with your reinserted brain, let us understand Hiyori more, Hibiya!
Now, meet Hiyori Asahina. As you have seen in the recent brain reinsertion session, she’s Hibiya’s crush.
Hiyori looks pretty relaxed, huh, Hibiya?
She looks really rela–Wait, what?
Hiyori…I think you need to clean up the house.
Thank you for your honesty, Hibiya. Now, let us observe Hiyori’s reaction!
Hiyori, laziness isn’t a good thing, you know.
Okay, Hibiya, I do hope you have the guts to tell her about the importance of cleaning.
*sigh*…Looks like Hibiya’s having a hard time in giving the medicine…Welp, I’ll leave your development to experience for now. Brain reinsertion sessions are very difficult to do, you know.
Hiyori’s got a pretty good hold on Hibiya.
Well, I wonder if that’s Hibiya’s laziness talking. Still, cooking with another person can be a good idea…
Hiyori, I feel like you should practice your cooking skills. Cooking skills are very essential skills in life, you know.
Hiyori’s got a good hold on Hibiya…I guess it’s because Hibiya wants her love…
Is that praise we’re hearing from Hiyori, Hibiya?
Don’t get overconfident, though, Hibiya.
I wonder what’s gross about good cooking skills, though. Or maybe it’s because it’s Hibiya….Argh, we still don’t know a lot about Hiyori…Let’s do our best in understanding Hiyori, Hibiya!
Oh yeah, speaking of understanding Hiyori, she has a crush on this dude. His name is Konoha, by the way. According to Hiyori, she’s attracted to him because of “his wild atmosphere” and “that elusive air of his.” Ah, youth…I remember the time when I had a crush on a girl just because of her looks…
You really want Konoha’s love very much, huh, Hiyori?
No need to rush, Hibiya. Keep calm and look at the bright side while you try to understand Hiyori! ^_^
By the way, in the second episode, Hibiya encountered Momo Kisaragi.
Well, looks like you’ve found a new piece of important information, Hibiya.
Man, seeing you miss the promotional posters for Momo Kisaragi earlier in this episode was facepalm-worthy, Hibiya.
Meet Hiyori Asahina, one of Momo Kisaragi’s fans, Hibiya.
Well, you can’t do anything about the past except for gaining inspiration from it. Also, keep calm and look at the bright side, Hibiya.
And Hiyori, you don’t need to be harsh on Hibiya. Hmm…Hibiya, you definitely need more calmness and optimism.
Yup, you definitely need more calmness and optimism, Hibiya.
Ah, blackmail. I’m not a fan of blackmail, by the way. I dislike blackmail. Also…
…Looks like you haven’t been a very honest boy lately, huh, Hibiya?
Here’s a summary of how Hibiya managed to go to the city with Hiyori:
- Hiyori called Hibiya and offered the boy a chance to go the city.
- Hibiya accepted Hiyori’s offer.
- Hibiya asked for permission from his strict father.
- Hibiya’s father did not give Hibiya permission.
- Hibiya tried to convince him, but he was thrown out of the house and was left to face the dogs after doing that.
- Hibiya crawled back to his house while he apologized and begged for entry into the house.
- Number 5 and 6 were repeated three more times, with each attempt containing more and more dogs and more and more desperate apologizing and begging.
And Number 8:
Seems like Hibiya’s parents want him to be more aware of the international community, huh?
Also, I’d praise Hibiya if he was more enthusiastic about summer classes. But alas, he went here for Hiyori. Ah, youth…Proper education is freaking important, you know.
Now that we know how Hibiya got to the city with Hiyori…
Also, you need more calmness and optimism.
It’s time for thinking time with Hibiya!
Oh come on, no one deserves to be hated, Hibiya.
You don’t need to be around Hiyori all the time, Hibiya.
Well, you better say it honestly as soon as possible, Hibiya.
Oh yes, you definitely need to tell her while you’re still there. Because, you know…
…might not be able to see her…
So tell her, Hibiya.
Tell her about your feelings as soon as possible.
The next moment would probably be…
…the last time you’ll ever see her.
She may not accept your feelings, yes…
…but still, tell her.
With full honesty, tell her about your feelings, Hibiya. Honesty is important, you know. With honesty, understanding each other will become easier.
Well, now’s your chance, Hibiya.
Aw, I guess you were too focused on the cat. Oh well.
And with that, I end my reflection on the fourth episode of Mekakucity Actors.
Up next: Kaien Panzermast!
