Milestones, Turning Points, and Activity Updates – May 2017

Right on time, yo! Well, kinda barely, I guess, considering how late it is right now here.

Anyway, I still have confidence in saying that this month has been a month of good progress! I managed to pass all of the subjects I took during the recently ended university semester, and I’ve been managing to post some more content here as well!

Of course, I still need to be of help in the house and all. Along with learning the ways of being more independent, I gotta be a good son and brother as well, you know! And hey, I gotta work out more too, which I’ve been trying to do lately. I’ve really gained a lot of weight in the recently past months, see. And I gotta get more rest and care for hygiene more. Like, I pretty much need to care for my health more, and that includes my mental health as well. And speaking of which, I’ve been thinking real hard about my social life real hard lately, particularly in terms of people I usually hang around with and how I hang around with them…God Almighty help me there….

Also, books have gotten my interest a lot more lately. Special mention goes to them Wattpad-popular stuff and them religious books. They’ve been getting me thinking about my future in worthwhile ways, you know.

Anyway, on to the stuff I posted during this month:

  1. a cover of twenty one pilots’s “Ride”
  2. six instrumental tracks I produced some time ago
  3. a cover of Mikito-P’s “Yonjuunana” with Bikkuri’s acoustic arrange
  4. “Nasisilawan na Harang,” a short story I wrote in Filipino
  5. the tenth chapter of Wandering Weiss

Also of note is a reblog I did of a post by Medieval Otaku, a dear friend of mine. That, and there’s the release of Uri’s The Hanged Man, the final main-line game in her Strange Men Series. Unlike The Boogie Man, I’m not a voice actor in it, but it’s still a game I’d recommend, not only because of my involvement in the production of the series, but also because of the content. I’ve thought of making a Recommendation Yell for it, but I’ve lost interest in doing such posts, as I’ve been finding more fun in having art experienced with 10% advertising and 90% discovery, if you get what I mean.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it for this post. Gotta sleep soon, too, so yeah, don’t forget my usual reminder about honest constructive feedback, which is highly encouraged and will be highly appreicated.

With an acoustic arrange, Tobby tried to sing “Yonjuunana”

So, I’m back with a cover of a song about an idol…and speaking of idols, I’ve been into a bunch of K-Pop idol groups lately. For example, I fanboyed about BTS on Twitter today.

Anyway, yeah, hadn’t done this in a while. I had this made spontaneously and quickly, like, some weeks ago, but the uploading was delayed due to some troubles and more important things, so yeah. I don’t think I should be feeling so down about letting this be delayed, though, considering that this is pretty much a side thing in my life right now…and maybe even in the future. My university years are not over yet, and spitting out creative works willy-nilly shouldn’t be a major part of my life. Along with that, I’ve been really letting myself break down a lot more lately. Like, really, as of this post’s writing, I’m suffering from another fever again, a few days after I suffered one and had some recovery.

So yeah, I guess my upload frequency here will still be all over the place, as usual. I still hope that you find worthwhile things and give worthwhile feedback as well.

A month with no blog posts? Talk about angsting, Tobby~

So yeah, hi. It’s me, The Overlord Bear, and I’m here with this late monthly update post.

The previous month’s been one very tough month for me, with a special mention going to my parents, particularly my mother, for snapping me out of that angsting. Also, more and more, I’m realizing how much I make other people look worse in my own perception. I’d try to blame a certain bunch of people I’ve been hanging around with a lot during the recently past days, but that would be hypocritical. Along with that is working harder towards true improvement, ’cause rubbing my weaknesses into my own face really doesn’t help.

And right now, I’m trying to save what I can from this university semester I’m having trouble with. I almost decided to stop going to school, but I was reminded about who I really want to be, so yeah, I still am and still will be going to uni classes with the same course I enrolled for with the best of my abilities. Good thing my parents, among other people, are around to help me out. Thank God very much, indeed.

By the way, I feel like “We Don’t Believe What’s on TV” is appropriate at this point.

Anyway, I got good news, and it’s that I’ve been making progress with two original short stories I’ve been writing. One’s in Filipino, and another’s in English. Both of them have gone through beta reader review, which I’ll likely be checking out after I feel settled regarding this current uni semester. Also, I’ve managed to get an illustrator to start working on a cover drawing for the Filipino short story, which I couldn’t have done without my dear sister’s help. And as for when those stories will finally be uploaded to the viewing public, well, that’ll be one mostly (at least) sudden thing, okay?

Oh, and fanfiction…Although I’ve been having reduced frequency of presence in the Professor Arc Forum, I’ve been writing stuff in The Writer Games: Forum Edition thread there. Wandering Weiss is somewhat at a standstill in terms of production right now, though I’ve been having ideas for its future chapters. I also managed to progress in the writing of another Your Name. fanfic, and yes, I still feel surprise at the reception of my first one, although it’s not like I don’t enjoy the good reception I’ve been receiving.

And suddenly, I remembered those crappy Touhou fanfics of mine, which I had already deleted from the great blue electronic ocean. Oh well, what matters is that I’m an improved writer now, and I really need to keep on improving, yo~

Also, somebody got inspired by a prompt of mine in The Writer Games: Forum Edition, leading to the creation of a RWBY fanfic in which Pyrrha Nikos enrolls into Beacon Academy while going by a fake identity. So far, it’s a pretty impressive take. And yes, I’ll be writing my own take on that premise sometime.

As for music stuff, I’ll still be making song covers. There will be at least one (with that condition fulfilled already ’cause “Ride” cover, yo~) song cover uploaded this month, too. There might be at least one collab cover which will be uploaded, too. And regarding that one original…well, I’ll need to contact my friend again about it. Haven’t been discussing that with him for a long while, see. Anyway, you’ll be getting updates, dear readers.

So yeah…I guess that’s pretty much what I got to say for this. Well, I’d also like to ask for your prayers, and I’d also like to ask for your honest constructive feedback, dear readers.

Oh, I’ve been thinking too much, alright.

So yeah, hi. I’m back with a post here. And I have a song cover again, yay~

The audio had been recorded over a month ago, and the video production took a while, delayed mostly by some angsting of mine, which was also one of the reasons for my attempt at covering this song. Still, growing up’s tough, but thank God very much, for it can be manageable.

Also, I’d like to send my thanks to Alex Finn for letting me use his instrumental arrangement. I’d also like to send a shoutout to one of his songs: “Material.”
