Milestones, Turning Points, and Activity Updates – September 2021

Considering how much work I have in my day job lately and how I got a lot during Christmas season last year, combined with how I’d like to create content without getting in the way of my family’s vacationing, I guess -ber months really are my life’s peak season, at least right now. Fortunately, I’ve been having more fun here than before, despite and through all the pain I have to experience (e.g. late uploads), so yeah, praise and thanks be to God Almighty very much again.

And speaking of religious and spiritual stuff, I wrote and posted two prayers this month: one for worthwhile times, and one for God’s Word to challenge and guide us fools’ word. Like, the first one has an emphasis on how we deal with the past, the present, and the future, and the second has an emphasis on how we live with language.

As for other writings, I wrote and posted two Honkai fanfics that also happen to be about Mei Raiden: one where I go angsty and then heartwarming while imagining how she’d be right after Kiana saves the world, and one where I make a joking reference to Raiden Shogun, her Genshin counterpart. And I still haven’t gotten back to playing Honkai, hahaha~

Meanwhile, Lisa the Tearer lived for another month again, with the void background making returns. One vid’s about love teams, and the other vid is about…

…well, it’s been a year since Calliope Mori (and holoMyth and hololive English) debuted, alright. So yeah, with added effort, I decided to commemorate that with an English remix of a certain Mikito-P song. While I think the original is very wholesome, I don’t think I can say the same about mine, hahaha…

As for other embarrassing stuff, I haven’t been making and posting a lot of meme vids and vlogs lately. I hope it’s a sign of improving quality control there, too, because if I have to rage and stuff like that, I’d love to do it more healthily.

Also, I did some rebranding. Like, I changed my tagline ’cause it feels too “nice guy,” and I’d like to further shed that personality of mine off.

Oh, and October’s coming. Spooky Month, Rosary Month, All Hallows’/Saints’ Eve, yup. Music posts may not be very spooky. Lisa the Tearer posts, though? Now those should really up the spookiness, of course. And if God would like me to make and post more reflections, then so be it. May He keep on helping us all.

And of course, honest constructive feedback is highly encouraged and will be highly appreciated.

A Prayer for God’s Word to Challenge and Guide Us Fools’ Word

Lord God, You brought light out of the darkness with just words, which we foolish humans would often think are nothing in the face of other actions. You also gave us words to remember as rules, which we foolish humans would often presume to understand and follow and even make as easily and well as You do. And of course, Your Word became flesh and dwelt among us, fulfilling Your holy promises while humbling us fools’ proud declarations.

Again, Lord God, I ask that You guide us by Your Word, which also created us human beings in Your image and likeness. Please keep us foolish humans away from misinterpreting Your silences as well, for there are conditions where silence can speak better than sound, and silence has to work together with sound. We foolish humans’ word is simply a sinful thing, but whenever it truly blesses is ultimately because of You and Your Word working on and through them and us who convey them, so please keep up Your perfect work.

In the name of the Father who orders and creates with the Word, the Son who follows and leads as the Word Incarnate, and the Holy Spirit who guides and challenges as the Advocate of the Word, I pray that us fools’ word be challenged and guided further and further, Amen.

I Shared a Kiss with Calliope Mori – A TOB English Remix

Happy First Anniversary to hololive English, holoMyth, and last but not least, Calliope Mori, the rapping Reaper who was also the very first to debut in holoEN and holoMyth. It’s a late greeting, but considering what I made, well, maybe the world’s lucky that this wasn’t posted on time, hahaha~ X”D

Anyway, I made a remix just for her, and it’s a remix of Mikito-P’s “Boku wa Hatsune Miku to Kiss wo Shita,” which is also known in English as “I Shared a Kiss with Hatsune Miku.” The original’s more wholesome than it sounds, and I’d like to say the same about my remix, but I feel like I’d be overconfident there, to be honest. Still, I wanna get this and more out there and see where all that stuff will go as far as I can.

Now, I’d like to send my thanks to the three people I commissioned to help with this production: Shigeru for the mix and mastering, Denyel for the illustrations, and Lance for the video. Also, I’d like to send you my apologies for any potential weird looks from others thanks to your involvement in my antics.

And yeah, I’m feeling kinda tight-lipped here, and I’d rather have my work speak for me more, so yeah, here’s the mp3, and here’s the lyrics sheet. A Prayer for Worthwhile Times

Lord God, please keep me away from nostalgia, for my past experiences are mostly made up of suffering, both by others’ hands and my own hands, and I would rather outdo them. Please keep me away from naivete, for my desires for the future are often foolish, often in believing in us foolish humans more than in You, and I do not want to repeat the sins I’ve committed before. And please keep me away from complacency, for the present is a speck of dust that helps form rocks of strongholds and blind all eyes it flies into, and it would only be wholly helpful to us if we would wholly allow it to be so according to Your will.

Along with those, Lord God, please help me appreciate commemoration, for the past makes me who I am, both by others’ hands, both by others’ hands and my own hands, along with the present, and I would love to make more greater things out of it all. Please help me appreciate foresight, for while the future may not be completely certain and comfortable, desires can be wise on top of being able to turn into reality. And please help me appreciate devotion, which can be done well not only through these religious rituals but also through the other parts of our whole ordinary lives, for the instant that is the present is a gift to the future and a treasure from the past, especially if we allow them to be so according to Your will.

With that, please keep on challenging and guiding us, Lord God who created time and bound us fools with it, for tradition is formed and maintained by the test of time, and while we fools can make and uphold bad tradition, foolishness shall fall upon wisdom’s feet eventually, while Your tradition shall stand for eternity. In the name of the Father who teaches the Son following with the Holy Spirit, the Son who follows the Father teaching with the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit who teaches the Father and follows the Son, I pray for more and more worthwhile times for all of us, Amen.
