BTS – Blood, Sweat, and Tears – TOB Vocal + Arrange Cover

Just like my cover of NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb,” this cover was something I started working on years ago but put off multiple times for so long. Like, I made the instrumental years ago, but I’ve never really recorded vocals, had them mixed, and got a video made after that until this year. And the fact that this production is even out here is particularly surprising thanks to certain pieces of my personal history. But maybe it’s not really that surprising, now that I think about it, considering the significant influence those pieces had on this. Maybe I won’t be able to show this off to her anymore, but hey, there’s still my family, for one, and I really should treasure my family more.

Anyway, more about the technical stuff in the cover, well, I never really thought that deeply about it until I started prepping my vocal recordings for this, but I aimed for a more subdued vibe with this cover. It’s not as groovy and sexy as the original, yeah, but I like to think that this cover managed to emphasize the senses of resignation and brokenness I think the song also has. Big props and thanks to Shigeru, who previously worked on my “Donut Hole” cover, for helping me work that out through the audio with his vocal mix and mastering, too!

And then there’s OK!NA, who worked on the illustration for this cover! She seems to have quite the sense with purple, and I’m also quite impressed by the way she drew my hairy mug with the visual aesthetic of “Blood, Sweat, and Tears!” The red blindfold’s a pretty nice touch, too, and I don’t think I’ve told her this yet, as I forgot to do so, but it brings me back to my interest in eyes and vision, especially through KagePro, hahaha! Anyway, yeah, I’d like to send big credit and thanks to her as well for helping me work on this thing!

Now, here are two links: one to the cover mp3 and another to the arrange instrumental. Don’t forget to credit and link me as well if you’re using the stuff out there, okay?

And of course, honest constructive feedback is highly encouraged and will be highly appreciated!

NCT 127 – Cherry Bomb (556 Remix) – Tobby’s Vocal Cover

I forgot how long I’ve been intending to do this cover, but I’m sure it’s been quite a while. Anyway, it’s finally here, and right after that contest period (I didn’t reach the Top ranks, by the way, but kokorobeats’s playlist for the entries seems to be getting me a lot of views lately).

For those who are wondering about how I managed to have an instrumental for this, I ripped 556’s added sounds for the remix and combined it with the SM Everysing instrumental. Of course, there was some further work that had to be done here and there (like track cuts and speed changes) to match it with the sound of the whole remix itself.

As for the vocal work and all that, it was the last Audacity project I made on my old computer before I got myself an upgrade. I kinda regret not backing up the project files as I moved files, especially since my sister gave me some important feedback when I asked her for some after I already deleted my files in my old computer. Aside from that, recording the vocals, especially the singing parts, along with mixing them got me feeling the wide gap between my abilities and them boys’ and their producers’ abilities. And I used the 556 Remix because I found the song easier to rap and sing with it (and because it’s got such a fun intensity).

So yeah, while I’m still up for making more music, stuff like that and more got me further rethinking my attempts at making music. So far, I’ve been erasing stuff from my music production queue and wanting to focus more on my vocal performance and lyric writing. I’d love it if I could deeply collaborate with someone in making music too. I mean, I could try commissioning a mixer at the very least sometime, but again, I also worry about how my personality would affect them in the long run…

Now, with all that said, here’s the mp3.

And of course, honest constructive feedback is highly encouraged and will be highly appreciated.

Save Me — Tobby’s Vocal Cover

If you were expecting me to sing “I’m Fine” because of that intro, then I’d like to send you my apologies.

Also, preparing to work on each part of this took way longer than actually working on ’em. I guess Mom’s right about planning taking more time, then…

Anyway, I’m back with a new song cover, bricks, and I should take it easier when it comes to thinking about Tobbyworks, alright. I already have enough on my plate with school and chores and all that, yo…

Oh, and I enjoy the ad-libs and the effects on this one. I should keep the power of harmonies in mind more, though…And as for the video, I really had fun with them layers along with the illustrations, so yeah, sending pats to you, Pat! \(^o^ )

And now, here’s the mp3.

Now, I need to get back to schoolworks soon, ’cause deadlines be closing in…

Stigma -Acoustic Arrange ver.- — Tobby’s Vocal Cover

Okay, due to my likely unavailability during the coming weekend, I decided to upload something already from my queue of works that are ready for upload. First off is this!

So yeah, say hello to my high notes and my Korean. I have more confidence in the former than the latter, but I do want to improve the latter as well!

Also, if you haven’t noticed it or forgotten about it, then I’d like to tell you that hey, I’m an A.R.M.Y. BTS has definitely become a part of my major inspirations, yo! And my bias? Well, there’s V…and Jin…and J-Hope…and the rest of the seven…Yeah, I find them that awesome. ^_^

And hey, Happy 4th Anniversary, BTS! I wish you more strength for more worthwhile stuff, too!

Anyway, more about this cover and production, well, among the solo tracks in WINGS and You Never Walk Alone, V’s “Stigma” resonated with me the most. Finding the instrumental for RYUSERALOVER’s acoustic arrangement (which is an arrangement with a piano and a guitar, specifically) got me wanting to cover it even more, and I’m glad that his arrangement also goes by a different key that my range can handle. Oh, and his vocal cover of “Stigma” with said arrangement is also worth listening to, by the way!

And yes, my main vocal consists of two separate tracks, as I wanted to do the lyrics covered under that sustained high note cry moment right before the last chorus. So yeah, that was me wanting to sing all the lyrics while trying to show off the higher part of my vocal range.

As for the illustration and video, I did the video effects and all, while Biwa drew the illustration! She’s someone I met online sometime after Uri’s The Hanged Man got released, and, in particular, I think I met her because of her fanart for the Strange Men Series. She draws well, if you ask me! Other examples I’d like to show include this one Weiss drawing I requested from her, and then there’s her fanart of the character I voiced in The Boogie Man!

Also, I think I’m getting better with AviUtl…but it’s still hard to work with, considering my comp’s specs…Oh well, gotta work with what I have for now.

And now, here’s a link to the mp3 of this cover.

Honest constructive feedback is highly encouraged and will be highly appreciated!
